Melbourne Information Session – 11 August 2015
Each year in August, Haemochromatosis Australia coordinates Haemochromatosis Awareness Week. The week is an opportunity to focus attention on haemochromatosis and the risk of inherited iron overload through the media, displays and other activities. This year the week will be observed from 10 – 16 August.
In Melbourne, Haemochromatosis Australia will host a free public information session at Places Victoria’s Studio (Mezzanine Level), 710 Collins St, Docklands on Tuesday 11 August 2015 at 6pm.
The guest speaker for the evening will be Associate Professor Amanda Nicoll, Director of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Eastern Health, who will provide an overview of haemochromatosis, following which there will be an opportunity for Q&A.
Ben Marris, President of Haemochromatosis Australia will also be present to provide information about awareness raising and support activities.
All welcome – people living with haemochromatosis, families and friends and health professionals with an interest in the condition!
A light supper will be provided. Come along and meet the volunteer leadership team from Haemochromatosis Australia and talk with other people living with haemochromatosis in your community.
